GM decides destiny of the divisions
At American General Motors remains less than two months after which the motor-car manufacturer with the big share of probability will begin bankruptcy procedure. Now the company quickly decides destiny of the divisions. In doubt existence of brands GMC and Pontiac. The fate of company Saturn which also is a part GM, apparently, is already solved.
Earlier representatives GM declared that consider all possible variants of the further existence of brand Saturn: from its closing before sale. Now it became known that events will develop, most likely, by the second variant, the buyer for company Saturn nevertheless was. Private investment company Black Oak Partners which in partnership with dealers of mark is ready to get a known automobile brand becomes them. Thus, Saturn not only remains "is live", but also to provide preservation of 10 000 workplaces. General Motors has already received the corresponding offer on purchase of the company and has declared intention to begin negotiations on this point in question. Less light future expects, most likely, other two brands of the American concern, GMC and Pontiac. Them simply can close under the necessity motto to spend cutting-down of expenses of motorcar giant GM. It is necessary to notice that earlier the concern expressed intention not to get rid from GMC and Pontiac, all the same presence of these two brands in the American market is estimated on the average in 650 000 units of a car. However bankruptcy procedure will pass for GM under the most rigid scenario, and is not excluded that it should close both brands, before considered as «good actives». According to such scenario, as a part of General Motors there are only three companies: Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac. Except Saturn which destiny will be soon defined, is still Hummer in which the Chinese companies have become interested, and motor-car manufacturers Saab and Opel, expressed intention to become independent brands.
